Orilla, sometimes spelled Aurilla, was the granddaughter of Jonas Roush and great-granddaughter of John Adam and Susannah Roush. Several sons of John Adam and Susannah (the exact number varies depending on the source) fought for America's independence during the Revolutionary War. In the 1910 U.S. Census, Orilla is listed as being the mother of 10 children, only 8 of whom were still living.
