Generations: 1850-1880

These individuals are the eight children of John and Orilla Grimm. The two children of John's brother Charles follow.

William Wallace Grimm

William was born Feb 23, 1858 in Virginia, and he died Dec 25, 1941 in Mason Co., West Virginia. He is buried in Parsons-Shawver Cemetery in New Haven, West Virginia.
William married Carrie E. Vickers July 31, 1879 in New Haven, West Virginia. Carrie was born March 24, 1859 and died in June, 1942. She is buried in Graham Cemetery, New Haven, West Virginia.
William was listed in county records as a miner, but family tradition has always been that he worked on the river boats that traveled up and down the Ohio River.

James E. Grimm

James was born Jan 19, 1860 in Virginia, and he died Feb 23, 1940 in Mason Co., West Virginia. He is buried in Graham Cemetery, New Haven, West Virginia.
James married Mary Adaline Lee. She preceded him in death.
James was nicknamed Pete. His occupation was listed as merchant in county records. He died of cancer.

Joseph Lee Grimm

Joseph was born Jun 17, 1866, and he died Jul 27, 1921.
Joseph married Letha Pickens Jul 2, 1890.
Joseph was believed to have been a river boat captain and to have owned one or more river boats of his own. During Joseph's lifetime the Ohio River was a major means of transport and the river boat trade would have provided many opportunities.

Strather Grimm

Strather was born Sep 13, 1868. It is not know when he died or where he is buried.
Strather married Fanny Chapman Sep 6, 1891.
An alternate spelling of Strather in some records is Strauder.

Lily Bell Grimm

Lily was born Sep 18, 1873. It is not know when she died or where she is buried.
Lily married Charles Graham May 23, 1907.
Lily is also listed in some records as Lalla Bell or as Lillian.

Henry Curtis Grimm

Curt was born Nov 29, 1879. It is not known when he died or where he is buried.
Curt married Vella M. Brinker Feb 17, 1900.

Earl Phillip Grimm

Earl was born May 26, 1881. It is not know when he died or where he is buried.
Earl married Dora Alexander Sep 3, 1904 in Meigs Co., Ohio.

Clara Grimm

Clara was born Aug 12, 1884 in Mason Co., West Virginia. It is not known when she died or where she is buried.
Clara married Alfred Price Jan 14, 1905.

These individuals are the children of Charles and Harriet Grimm.

Phoebe Grimm

Phoebe was born in Pike County, Indiana. The dates of her birth and death are not known.
Phoebe died as a small child.

Milo Grimm

Milo was born in Muncy, Pike County, Indiana, in 1868.
Milo married Maria Emmaline Gibbs on May 21, 1890 in Mason County, WV. She went by the name of Emma.
Milo was a farmer all of his life and his farm was located in Letart, WV.
