Martin was born circa 1852 in Virginia. It is not known when he died, but it is presumed to have been before Oct, 1924. He is listed in the 1870 census as being the 18 year old son of Simon.
There is a record in Meigs Co., Ohio, of a marriage between Martin Grimm and Elizabeth Hardy Feb 19, 1871. It is not known if this is the same Martin, but two factors contibute to it being a possibility: Meigs Co., Ohio, is just across the Ohio River from Mason Co., West Virginia, and Martin would have been about 19 years old at this time.
